* The height of the king is 80 mm.
* Plastic pieces
* Weighted with lead
* Underide covered with felt
Paco Ŝako is an amazingly dynamic version of the classic board game of chess.
The chess game renewed. Pieces are no longer beaten, but embraced, you form
combined pieces. From the idea that the game of chess can be played to express
friendship, peace and cooperation, the Dutch artist and father Felix Albers
designed a game where the pieces do not strike each other, but embrace each
other as it were. Conceived to play chess with his son, but at the same time
to teach him a friendly, thoughtful and philosophical approach to the game.
Felix Albers hopes to playfully teach his son essential life lessons, learn to
cooperate and join forces, and to seek harmony in a world where there is too
much conflict and misunderstanding.
Note: The set contains only the pieces. Chessboard is not included, but can be
purchased separately. Size cases at least 45 mm.
The unique interlocking curved design of the Paco Ŝako pieces, means that the
black and white chess pieces can form physical unions. This feature adds a
whole new dimension and level of ingenuity to the game, by introducing four
new moves central to the Paco Ŝako experience.
**1) Creating a union**
Create a union by uniting your piece with any of the pieces of the other
player. If you create a union with the King of the other player, then you have
won the game!
**2) Moving a union**
Once united, both players can keep playing the union. You can only move a
union based on the rules of movement of YOUR piece within the union.
**3) Taking over a union**
By playing one of your own pieces into an existing union, you can then release
your piece that was originally in the union, allowing it to move out onto the
board within the same move.
**4) Chain reaction**
One of the most interesting moves in Paco Ŝako is the chain reaction which
takes place within one move. This new aspect results in fun and dynamic moves
and unexpected twists and turns within the game.
* Winner PAX Peace award 2017
* Nominated Toys of the Year 2018
* Nominated Dutch Games Award Expert Game 2018
